We feel like every day at the Club is a special day, but that was especially true yesterday, when we got to host a special announcement for a member of our Golf Team, Jeromy Toutant.

Jeromy has already shown incredible dedication to his career in golf. Since joining Bishops Bay Country Club in 2021 while attending Edgewood College, Jeromy has worked tirelessly to grow in the sport he loves. After graduating in 2023, he set his sights on becoming a PGA Professional, earning a promotion to Assistant Golf Professional and passing his playing ability test under the mentorship of John Shipshock and Chris Meyer.

However, Jeromy’s path took an unexpected and challenging turn when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma—a cancer so rare in adults that it affects only 1 in 10 million people. Since then, he has undergone surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and a stem cell transplant at UW Madison Children’s Hospital. His health battle has sidelined his ability to work, but it has not diminished his spirit.

This week, Jeromy was surprised with the opportunity of a lifetime: an all-expenses-paid trip to The Masters, one of golf’s most prestigious events. The surprise took place here at Bishops Bay, where he initially thought he was walking into someone else’s celebration. However, it quickly became apparent that the celebration was his.

His trip was made possible through Nik’s Wish, a nonprofit that grants wishes to young adults fighting cancer. Jeromy had applied nearly a year ago, and after a few months without hearing back, assumed it wasn’t going to happen. But with the help of the organization, his wish has now become a reality.

As Jeromy continues his treatment and journeys to the Masters, the Bishops Bay community looks forward to being there with him along the way.
