As we enter the home stretch of 2024, we are going to be looking back at some of our favorite moments from the past year.
Today, we will be looking back at our Women’s Member-Guest golf event, Talk Derby To Me.
This golf season got off to a historically rainy start this year, but the weather held out for most of the day for our Talk Derby To Me event, allowing for a lot of fun cart decorations, themed outfits, and some great golf.
I was able to be a part of the planning for Talk Derby To Me, and I was impressed by the amount of thought and effort that went into the planning of this event. It really showed when the day arrived, as there were derby-themed hole challenges, cocktails, and games at the end of the day. John and Chris recently recalled the following about the Women’s Member-Guest event:
Chris: One of the most enjoyable events every year is the Women’s Member-Guest. Part of it is because it feels a little bit like Casual Friday. We always dress up in some crazy outfit that ties into the theme of the event. I’ve never thought of myself as a horse jockey, but this year, with our event theme being Derby Day, I got to throw on some jockey silks, and we actually got to play a hole of golf. It was you, me and Barrett. The three of us came out here, we picked one club and played Hole 18.
John: Barrett did end up winning that. Had a little putt off for the championship for that. And Barrett won. But, it was a lot of fun. A lot of laughs were made, with how we were looking out there in our jockey costumes.
